  1. The violence aside, and as misdirected as a lot of it probably is, at least they're doing something and getting their voice heard, right? History shows us that students will be students – and these are trying economical times for all apart from for the very wealthy. At least they're not all at home bitching about their lot on Facebook and then playing Farmville to get over the trauma of it all (though, sadly, I'm sure a fair proportion of them are).

  2. Jenny, I leave tomorrow but now there is a strike of the air traffic controllers in Spain!Owen, I think the term “students” is overused. Just how many are students, I wonder. But really, what are they doing? This is a country that needed to be bailed out because the people want the government to cater to every need and it has pushed them into such overwhelming debt. They want everything to remain the status quo, ineptitude of the government aside. Where is it supposed to come from? God forbid people retire at 62 instead of 60 to be taken care of, as the French are up in arms about. And in Europe, if you keep taxing the rich, the rich have other places to go.
