One of my favorite movies is Midnight in Paris. Screenwriter who wants to live in Paris and seeks out the nostalgic past of literary and artistic greats? And Marion Cotillard? So I thought it would be fun to retrace some of the steps from the movie.
The infamous steps by Saint Étienne du Mont where Gil first encounters the vintage Peugeot that transports him back to the 1920s.
The Quai de Bourbon is where the party takes place when Gil first meets the Fitzgeralds.
Gil first meets Ernest Hemingway at the Polidor. Despite the movie showing this to be a present-day laundromat, the Polidor still stands.
Gertrude Stein’s residence:
Gil finds a distraught Zelda Fitzgerald on the bank of the Seine on the Quai des Orfèvres:
Place Dauphine and Restaurant Paul is where Gil and Adriana are picked up and transported to the Belle Époque.
Bench in Square Jean XXIII behind Notre Dame where Gil asks the Rodin Museum guide to translate the old book written by Adriana.
